I was never meant to wear your crown.
Not Your Queen is a statement of autonomy, individuality and the freedom to define oneself beyond the expectations of others.
The bold, hand-drawn crown is not a symbol of status or authority, but a challenge to the roles we are expected to accept. The woman's direct gaze, expressive black lines and vibrant pink tones create a visual language of confidence, vulnerability and resistance.
Fragments of handwritten text surround the figure, suggesting the voices, labels and expectations imposed upon us. Yet the figure remains unapologetically herself — refusing to be shaped by someone else's idea of who she should be.
The artwork explores the tension between identity and expectation, reminding us that true strength does not come from fulfilling a role, but from having the courage to step beyond it.
For those who have stopped trying to be what others expect.
